Webcasts Series opens with the impact of COVID-19 on Higher Education
With the aim of facilitating access to the reports made by UNESCO IESALC, the Institute launches a series of webcasts available to the public that begins with a presentation on the impacts of COVID-19 on higher education, presented by the its director, Francesc Pedró.
“We are practically facing a situation of heroism of students and teachers,” Pedró indicates at the beginning of his presentation to give an idea of what it has meant to resort to distance education in a hasty way to maintain pedagogical continuity.
This webcast summarizes the recent report published by the Institute under the title of “COVID-19 and higher education: Today and tomorrow. Impact analysis, policy responses and recommendations” with the results of the impact analysis caused by the coronavirus pandemic in higher education. In less than 30 minutes, this webcast presents the great challenges of the sector, as well as the opportunities for growth and reinvention in order to plan the “new normal” that could be drawn with the reopening of higher education institutions.
