A survey will analyse global trends in tertiary education quality assurance
The deadline to the II Global Study surveys –project carried out jointly with UNESCO IESALC, the International Association of Universities, regional Quality Assurance and INQAAHE- has been extended. The data collection phase was launched in October 2023 with a survey addressed to external quality assurance providers (EQAPs) and internal quality assurance (IQA) of tertiary education institutions (TEIs).
The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) is a world-wide association of 300+ organisations active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education. The great majority of its members are quality assurance agencies that operate in many different ways.
In 2018 INQAAHE inherited a decade long tradition launched by UNESCO in 2004 and turned it into its flagship project: the Global Trends Study in Tertiary Education Quality assurance, including both internal and external on the QA.
The result is an holistic and comprehensive analysis across all the regions globally. An invaluable contribution to the body of knowledge in terms of legitimacy, relevance, efficiency, trust and integrity in tertiary education.
The first global study, published in 2020, provided strong foundations for understanding trends and empirically built a historical base as well as widened future prospects for quality assurance in tertiary education globally. What is next beckon global trends in tertiary education quality assurance supported by a robust methodology.
It will be published as an open source to enable maximum benefits for the tertiary education community at large. Both surveys are multilingual, allowing each respondent to pick their preferred language from English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Portuguese.
