CRES+5 draft background documents are available
The drafts for the base documents resulting from the activity of the Working Groups responsible for each Thematic Axis of the follow-up meeting of the Third Regional Conference on Higher Education, known as CRES+5, are now available. Each group carried out activities of bibliographic review, data collection and analysis, in addition to the online Public Consultations open to interested parties in general, adding up to more than thirty online seminars, held between September 2023 and January 2024, around the thematic axes of the Conference.
This broad call for work served to gather experiences and knowledge on higher education in the region, which were collected and processed by working groups in order to broaden the diversity and representativeness of voices in the base documents of each thematic axis. The drafts of these documents will be discussed soon at the fourth preparatory meeting of CRES+5 to be held in Havana, Cuba, on 7 and 8 February.
All these initiatives seek to enrich the regional debate and the collective construction of CRES+5, thus broadening its relevance for all higher education actors.
The regional call for contributions to CRES+5 remains open
Higher education institutions, organisations and networks in Latin America and the Caribbean are invited to join the collective construction of the follow-up meeting of CRES+5, with the contribution of comments or documents that reflect their views on the major challenges facing higher education in the region.
The contributions received will be reviewed by the specialists responsible for each of the 12 thematic axes of the Conference, who will evaluate their relevance for their inclusion in the preparation of the base document corresponding to their respective thematic axis.
These written contributions will continue to promote a regional consensus on the priorities for the development of higher education in the region in the next five years and will be available to the public in the CRES+5 Library.
This open digital repository also contains documents related to the III Regional Conference on Higher Education (CRES 2018) and the World Conference on Higher Education (WCHE 2022), as well as the references produced by UNESCO and the region to support the work of CRES+5.
The organisations, institutions and education networks interested in sending their contributions should fill in the form available here.
