Governing Board
The IESALC Governing Board is the management body that, within the framework of the guidelines approved by the UNESCO General Conference every two years, supervises and adjusts the Institute’s work program regarding its implementation and execution.
The Institute is presided over by a Governing Board which currently comprises nine members:

Miriam Alpizar Santana (Cuba) – Head of the Secretariat of the Minister of Higher Education.
Gennesta E. Charles (Grenada) – Standards & Planning Coordinator Grenada National Training Agency
Santiago Jaime Ruiz Alvarez (Honduras) – Director of Scientific, Humanistic and Technological Research (DICIHT), National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH).
President
Dameon Black (Jamaica) – Commissioner and Executive Director, Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission.
Eddy Córdova Córcega (Venezuela) – Former ambassador and senior official of the Ministry of Popular Power for University Education

Rodrigo Vidal Rojas (Chile) – Current Rector of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (2022-2026)
Pablo Beltrán Ayala (Ecuador) – President – Higher Education Council of Ecuador
Valentina Canese Caballero (Paraguay) – Director of the Higher Institute of Languages (Philosophy Faculty of the National University of Asunción).
