“Challenges and opportunities of science and education in the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean”

The webinar “Challenges and opportunities of science and education in the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean” will be held on February 2, 2023, at 10:00h (Colombia time GMT-5), as part of a series of preparatory meetings for the III International Congress “Science and Education for Development and Peace. Contributions of Science and Education to Consolidate Peace and Advance in a Development Model with Social Justice”, organized by the Permanent Forum on Science and Education for Development and Peace.
Francesc Pedró, UNESCO IESALC Director; David Julien, Executive Director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE); Enrique Forero, Director of the Regional Focal Point for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region at the International Science Council (ISC) and Francisco Gómez Ortiz, Rector of the Catholic University of Colombia and representative of the Organization of Catholic Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (ODUCAL) will be the panelists. The speakers will discuss the integration process in Latin America and the Caribbean from the perspective of their institutions, as well as the challenges and opportunities that integration represents in relation to science and education in the region. Carlos Garzón, academic vice-rector of the Uniagustiniana, will moderate the event.
