International Virtual Exchange Conference 2022

The 4th International Virtual Exchange Conference (IVEC) 2022 will be held at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University (Valencia, Spain), on October 26-28, 2022 in hybrid format.

IVEC is the largest and most prominent event on Virtual Exchange, providing a forum for instructors, administrators, instructional designers, and educational leaders from institutions around the world interested in technology, international education, and new pedagogies.

Emma Sabzalieva, Head of Research and Foresight at UNESCO IESALC, will present research completed by UNESCO IESALC on virtual student mobility at the panel “Researching the Field: Leveraging large-scale virtual exchange research to improve practice and advocacy”. Organized by the Stevens Initiative, the panel will also feature talks from Kyle Kastler, Senior Program Associate at the Stevens Initiative, and Rajika Bhandari, an international education expert. This session will bring together the presence and practice of virtual exchanges (VE) at the global level, using data to answer questions about the VE field and illustrate differing approaches, outcomes, and regional implementation.

Based on the presentation of recent, large-scale, multinational research efforts, including the methodologies, findings, and implications, participants at the conference will be able to identify and use these projects, and the accompanying shared resources as grounding for good practices for their own research and to inform virtual exchange programming decisions at their institution. During the facilitated discussion, attendees will be invited to share their perspectives on research and learning priorities to address needs in their respective contexts.
