Public Consultation CRES+5 – Axis 9: Gender Equity and the Role of Women in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean

In preparation for the Regional Conference on Higher Education follow up (CRES+5), scheduled for March 2024 in Brasilia, we invite networks, higher education institutions, stakeholders and other actors involved in the field of higher education to join the second public consultation of Axis 9: “Gender equity and the role of women in higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

On Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 13h to 14h30 (Caracas, GMT -4) / 14h to 15h30 (Brazil time) this consultation will be held.

Keynote Speakers:

• Nilma Lino Gomes, former Minister of Women, Racial Equality and Human Rights, Brazil
• Claudya Parize, Vice-President in charge of Social Responsibility, Université des Antilles, Guadeloupe and Martinique
• Halimah DeShong, Head of the Institute of Gender and Development Studies, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.

Moderators are:

• Sandra Almeida, Rector of the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais
• Myriam Moïse, Associate Professor, Université des Antilles, and Secretary-General, Universities Caribbean 

Live interpretation will be provided in Spanish, English and French.
