Workshop “Diagnosis of the Teaching Competency Profile in the CAB Countries”

The Andrés Bello convention for the educational, scientific and cultural integration of Latin America and Spain (Andrés Bello Convention), within the framework of Line 3 “Diagnosis of the Teaching Profession and Professional Quality Standards: Towards the construction of a CAB Teacher Qualifications Framework”, will hold the first face-to-face workshop of this line of programmatic action, on July 19 and 20, 2023, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

Entitled “Diagnosis of the Teaching Competency Profile in the CAB Countries”, this workshop seeks to socialize and analyze the diverse documentation available on teaching competencies and reach a consensus on the competency model considered most appropriate for the countries of the Andrés Bello Convention.

The workshop will be attended by specialists from 10 CAB member countries. In person: Bolivia, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela; and Colombia virtually. The workshop will also include the participation of Delva Batista Mendieta, Executive Secretary of the Andrés Bello Convention.

Francisco Contreras, internationalization specialist at UNESCO IESALC, participated with the presentation: “Teacher Qualifications Framework: steps, key considerations and agreement”.
